John Parke from London, SW17 says:
The Red Rocks Nursing Home maded such a difference to our peace of mind when it became clear that our mother, at over 90, could not safely live in her own home any longer. She was by no means an easy person and the Red Rocks coped well with that and with all our own anxieties as well. Mummy was there for four and a half years and we were delighted by the attention she received.
Fraser Liversage from Oxfordshire says:
Red Rocks was head and shoulders above the other homes we looked at for my Aunt. The highly personal and friendly nature of the care my Aunt received made her last couple of months as comfortable as possible. Furthermore, the care extended to family and friends too and I couldn't recommend Red Rocks highly enough. It's a shame there isn't a five star category!
M. Cooper from Wirral says:
My wife and I have known the Vaughan family, who own the Red Rocks Nursing Home for a number of years and Know of the high regard in which the Home is ,justifiably, held. Recently my wife, following an operation, spent some time at Red Rocks, receiving wonderful, caring attention throughout.

This nursing home has a very high standard of care, set in beautiful landscape gardens over looking the sea. The staff are all highly trained and always greet you with a warm welcome. I would be condfident in recommending Red Rocks to anyone.
Guy Barker from Cheshire says:
After a first visit, many might think Red Rocks is easy to praise for it's setting, and the fact that those residents who are able to appreciate it have a view that others on the Wirral pay millions for. But where RR stands out for me is the CARE - everyone who works there cares, it doesn't come across as just a job for the people I meet.
Denys Firth from Hong Kong says:
The staff at Red Rocks are very caring and friendly. Food is good and the home is spotlessly clean. Spectacular views over the sands and water, if a bit windswept. They have done a wonderful job looking after our mother (aged 93).
Jenni from Stockport says:
My grandmother was a resident at Red Rocks many years ago,she was very happy there. The staff are very caring,it was always immaculate and the food is exceptional. I would highly recommend this care home

I have been living at Red Rocks nursing home for a few years and I am able to say how well ,residents were treated;very good installations and profesional workers and ,above all ,a loving care to every single resident there.
Sabina Pugh from Oxfordshire says:
My father recieved the very best of care at Red Rocks. The staff who cared for him were unfailingly patient and good humoured. They treated him so kindly and most of all, made him laugh. I will always be grateful to Red Rocks - it is a very special place.
Mrs June Jarvis from Cornwall says:
My father was at Red Rocks for 3 and half years during which time he had excellent care, from every member of staff. The home is more like a luxury hotel, set in beautiful surroundings. My father considered this his home, and was very appreciative of everything that was done for him. All awards this nursing home receives are more than justified and everything stated here is in agreement with me, his family and his friends.

'..I would like to thank you and your staff for all that you did for my mother which was not put in writing at the time of her death because we were very busy with other things. ... To find Red Rocks was a great relief, locally owned, managed and staffed. The staff put up with her smoking and alcohol habits, even joining in with her at the back door! And after a month or two, Red Rocks clearly became home from home. You clearly provide a very important service to your local community which I hope they appreciate. I hope you remain independent for many years to come. If you ever need a recommendation, please do not hesitate to ask...' (Extract from an email received by best-care-home.co.uk)

'... I wanted to drop you a line as soon as I could just to let you know that we had not forgotten your immense kindness and the extremely high quality of care that you gave our lovely Auntie Maisie.
It meant so much to us all (Fraser and I – and my Mum while she was still with us) to know that Maisie was receiving such professional care and – almost more importantly – such tender, compassionate, friendly care during her last few weeks. She could not have been in better hands. We can’t thank you enough.
And a big, special thank you please to Ruth who was so kind, caring and so professional about the health care our Auntie Maisie received. Really wonderful. Thank you.
I’d like to add a special thanks to Hazel. She answered the phone to me so often ... particularly in the evenings .... and she was so sweet.
My best wishes and love to all of you. Thanks so much...(extract from an email received by best-care-home.co.uk) |
Fraser Liversage from Chichester says:
'...our Aunt Maisie was a very, very special person. She loved life, loved the countryside and loved people. I keep having to pinch myself that we were lucky enough to have found Red Rocks – not for one of her favourite views (which was a huge bonus), but for the individual nature of the marvellous care the entire team gave to Maisie. She deserved the best and thanks to you all she received it. Knowing that her last two months were as pain free as possible means so much to me, but knowing that her dignity was maintained means just as much if not more.
The Wirral was Maisie’s home for almost 90 years. She was passionate about the area and for me walking our dog (Gunner) on the sands at Red Rocks while visiting Maisie, will be an enduring and comforting memory. I don’t think I’ll be able come to West Kirby without a trip to your corner of the Wirral.
Thank you Ruth the world would be a far better place if there were more like you to go around. Thank you Michael and the team keep doing what you’re doing – you’re the best!
Best wishes, good memories...' (extract from an email received by best-care-home.co.uk) |

I am writing to thank you for your kindness and concern recently upon visiting my late mother... as you know her condition deteriorated quite rapidly towards the end... but we made the right decision in this case not to bring her to Red Rocks. However I do thank you for your time... we were extremely impressed with the home and knew mother would have been in very good hands in her room overlooking the sea. Once again thank you very much...' (extract from a letter received by best-care-home.co.uk)

My 90 year old Aunt Elsa went into Red Rocks just before Christmas, very very poorly, and passed away at the end of January. The love and care given to her by the magnificent matron Ruth, and her wonderful nurses enabled her last weeks to be as comfortable and dignified as possible. As we all live hundreds of miles away it was such a comfort to know Elsa was being looked after so well.
Telephone contact was always unfailingly polite and sympathetic. A brilliant nursing home. |
M Owen from London says:
Thank you for all you did to make the last four months of my mothers life so comfortable. She had always wanted to finish her days in her own home but - when that became impossible we couldn't have found anywhere that was so welcoming and cared for her so well as you all did. I am not sure she even realised she was in a Nursing Home and that is some compliment! One hears such terrible stories of Nursing Homes that it was to my brother and I a great relief to find that such places as Red Rocks exist. You well deserve the accolade of being the winner of the best-care-home in the North. Indeed we chose you because everyone who knew of you spoke so highly. Thank you and of course Ruth and all your staff - for your kindness and consideration. (extract from letter)
Martin Owen from London says:
My Mother spent the last 9 months of her life at Red Rocks dying in January this year aged 95. There was nothing that was too much trouble to make her comfortable and their care was second to none. We sent her there because of the many good reports we had heard about this Home and would reccomend it to everyone.
Michael Muir from Wirral says:
Thank you so much for finding my dad a room at such short notice and for looking after him in his last few days. The loving care he received was more than we could ever have expected and to be honest more than we could have given him at home; he received so much attention with staff popping in every time they passed his door; he was rarely alone.
Your staff were exemplary, no matter what the demands on them, at whatever time of day or night, they were always kind and caring never ever short tempered, and they must have felt very tired and emotionally stressed at times. It is perhaps unfair to single out particular staff but some I saw more often than others. Ruth was well-organised and professional but with tremendous compassion, genuine health care that I have not seen before. Coming in, on her Sunday off, to ensure his treatment was consistent made a big difference to his comfort when he died that night. Janette was very helpful to me... and Hazel is another treasure...
His appetite was very poor when he arrived but following his first egg and bacon butty in many years he looked forward to every meal. The food, and most importantly, it's presentation was perfect and he never stopped talking about it, 'the best hotel he had ever been in!' (Extracts from a letter received by best-care-home) |
